Privacy Policy

The short version: Everything you create — custom photos, sounds, saved configurations — stays on your phone. Your score and Apple ID go to Apple's own Game Center, not to us. Space Tilters shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects a limited, specific set of data described below — or you can turn ads off entirely with a one-time Remove Ads purchase.
We still have no servers, no accounts, and no analytics of our own. The only data collection here is Apple's Game Center and Google's ad service, both covered in full below.
| Data | Where it lives | Leaves your phone? |
|---|---|---|
| Custom photos you assign to an alien row or your ship | Your phone's local app storage | No |
| Custom sound words you type, and their spoken-audio renders | Your phone's local app storage | No |
| Your local high score | Your phone's local app storage | No |
| Your Game Center score submissions | Apple's Game Center service | Yes — to Apple, under Apple's own privacy policy |
When you pick a photo to customize an alien or your ship, the system photo picker hands the app only the image you selected — Space Tilters never sees or requests access to the rest of your photo library. The image is cropped and resized on your device and saved to the app's own private storage. It is never uploaded anywhere, and never shared with us or anyone else.
Words you type for sound effects are converted to audio using your iPhone's built-in, on-device speech synthesizer — the same technology behind VoiceOver and Siri's voice. This happens entirely on your device; the words you type and the audio it produces are never sent to Apple, to us, or to any other server.
Space Tilters uses Apple's Game Center to run its global leaderboard. If you sign in, your score and Game Center player identity are sent to Apple so other players can see the leaderboard. We never receive this data ourselves — it's handled entirely by Apple, under Apple's own privacy policy. Signing in to Game Center is optional; the game is fully playable without it.
Space Tilters shows ads through Google's AdMob service: an occasional interstitial ad when you return to the main menu (never more than once every few minutes, and never in the moment between dying and seeing your score), and — only if you choose it — a short rewarded video for one extra life after your last one runs out. Don't want ads at all? A one-time Remove Ads purchase turns them off for good, on this and every future update.
Showing ads means Google's SDK collects some data on our behalf. This is the exact list, taken from the SDK's own privacy declaration rather than a general description:
| Data | Linked to your identity? | Used to track you across apps? |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising identifier (IDFA) | Yes | Yes |
| Ads you've seen (advertising data) | Yes | No |
| How you interact with the app (product interaction) | Yes | No |
| Approximate location, from your IP address | Yes | No |
| Crash and performance data | No | No |
The advertising identifier is the only one of these used to track you across other companies' apps — which is exactly why iOS asks for your permission (App Tracking Transparency) before it's used that way. Ads still show if you decline; they're just not personalized to you either way, by design.
If you're in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, Google's consent tool asks for your choice before any of this happens, the first time it's needed, in line with GDPR.
Space Tilters is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Ads shown through Google AdMob are set to a general-audience content rating and are not treated as directed at children — see "Advertising" above for exactly what that involves.
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that does transmit data — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
