Privacy Policy for pKaTool

Your scientific data never leaves your device. The titratable group systems, pKa values, interaction energies, and pH scan settings you create in pKaTool are stored locally on your device only. They are never sent to us, to any third party, or to any server. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it. pKaTool does not require an account.

pKaTool shows occasional, non-personalized banner ads, served by Google's Mobile Ads SDK, to support development. You can remove ads permanently with a one-time in-app purchase.

Showing ads means Google's SDK collects some data on our behalf. This is the exact list, taken from the SDK's own privacy declaration rather than a general description:

The advertising identifier is the only one of these used to track you across other companies' apps and websites — which is exactly why pKaTool asks for App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission on first launch. Ads stay non-personalized either way; declining doesn't remove or degrade anything.

If you're in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, Google's consent tool asks for your choice before any of this happens, the first time it's needed, in line with GDPR.

If you purchase Remove Ads, the ad SDK stops making any network requests entirely — no ads, no ad-related network activity of any kind.

Your privacy choices

App Tracking Transparency: change your answer any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → pKaTool.
Remove Ads: a one-time purchase (Settings tab inside the app) stops all ad-related network activity — no SDK requests of any kind, personalized or not.

In-app purchase

The one-time Remove Ads purchase is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. pKaTool never sees or stores your payment information.

pKaTool does not use cookies and does not use any analytics or crash-reporting service of its own, beyond what's described above for ads.
